Salvaged Victorians

We salvage doomed Victorian homes. When all the battles to save the house have been lost, we slavage the archietecture before it's bulldozed and lost forever. These are some of the buildings that Victorian House Movers has salvaged.

450 Frederick Street, San Francisco

After several years of attempting to block the demolition of this 1890's Queen Anne row house in the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco, the neighborhood reached an agreement with the owner that allowed the salvaging of this home before the bulldozers arrived. During the last week of October 2006, Victorian House Movers removed a wonderful unpainted Eastlake Oak stairway as well as all interior mouldings, wainscoat, and Eastlake five panel doors.

Brunswick Ohio

We acquired the salvage rights for a wonderful 1870's Italianate farmhouse located in Brunswick, Ohio in May 2005. We removed about 50 cornice brackets as well as the interior doors and mouldings before the bulldozers took the home down to make way for a housing developement. We made a donation to the Brunswick Historical Society for their efforts in trying to save the home.
