We passed final inspection on the Phillips House after a two and a half year move and restoration process! I've loved every moment of the project but realized that it is far more time consuming and expensive to move a house thousands of miles and rebuild it than to build a new copy of the original. Yet, I love my mostly authentic 1870's home and couldn't think of another way I would have enjoyed life more than being a part of this long journey. Phillips House Update July 2008 With the main house finished, we turned our attention to the carriage house. We had a new frame built...and intend to finish the exterior with salvage from an 1870's home taken down in Brunswick, Ohio. We installed new Anderson windows and put up Tyvak during July. Phillips House Update August 2008 During August we put soffits and frieze panels up around cornice. We also installed the siding. The carriage house is definitely taking shape.
