The new trim that was reproduced for us arrived in September, so we were able to finish trimming out the rear of the house. Then, we went to work sanding and stripping all of the original coats of lead paint from the original sections of the house, a long, dirty job. Phillips House Update October 2007 Finally, we were ready to spray on the exterior oil primer before the rains hit. Joe and I took a long overdue vacation and attended the Traditional Building Show in New Orleans, where we met many like-minded Preservationists. Phillips House Update November 2007 We finished painting by the end of November, taking the entire month to finish. We had to cut eight different colors, but it was well worth it. The result was a historic, color scheme that I was very proud of. Now, the house blends into the surrounding forest, with it's olive body and brown and gold trim.
